Gabriel Connor is a music artist originally from Curitiba, Brazil, best known as singer and bassist of Hard Rock band Red Devil Vortex, based in Los Angeles, CA.

After being introduced to the world of Rock N’ Roll at the age of 8 by KISS and later on by other classic bands like Black Sabbath, Metallica and Guns N’ Roses, he was determined to become a professional musician and performer, spending his early teenage years studying music and developing his playing and singing skills, performing with other local musicians and recording a demo with original music and performing live with his first band at the age of 12.

For Gabriel, music was never only about playing an instrument but also about creating a connection and relationship between artist and audience, embracing and talking about real feelings that matter, letting go of the everyday bullshit through the escapism of art, music and performance and creating a lifestyle through music.

With that mindset, he started Livin Garden at the age of 16. The band was active for 10 years releasing two studio albums, a Live/Documentary DVD, played many shows and shared the stage with great acts like Black Label Society, Blind Guardian and Circle II Circle. Livin Garden toured Brazil, toured USA, got scammed on the road for an RV losing all their tour money, figured it out and bought their own vehicle (the undaunted Livin Beast!), got stranded in a snow storm for days, switched members while on tour, overcame many other obstacles and became one of the very few bands that made out of their hometown. With new opportunities in sight, Gabriel and his bandmates moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2015 to then see their band breaking apart.

Gabriel created Red Devil Vortex, a band that goes deep in his heavy music roots and blends metal with electronic, hard rock, goth, chaotic noises, melodies and big hooks. The first EP, “Something Has To Die”, was released in May of 2018. Produced by Augustus Cryns (Butcher Babies, Anti-Flag), the record hit the US Billboard charts at No #16 (Heatseekers Chart) and No #49 (Independent Albums Chart). It sold over 1200 copies on its first week, both physical and digital combined, with over 500k Spotify Streams to date.

Between 2019 and 2020 the band recorded their second EP, “Dark Secrets”. While all recordings were concluded, they faced a huge loss with the untimely death of their friend and producer Augustus during the pandemic lockdowns. Two songs were released but the EP was postponed, with original guitarist and drummer leaving in the process. Gabriel kept Red Devil Vortex alive, using the time to organically find the right band members to get back on track.

With the addition of Luis Kalil on guitars, “Dark Secrets” was finally released on February of 2022 featuring “Psycho”, one of their highly acclaimed singles. With all songs combined, Red Devil Vortex has amassed over 1 million Spotify streams to date.

With Eduardo Baldo joining on Drums, Red Devil Vortex goes in studio with producer Adair Daufembach finalizing their first full length album.

Besides writing music for  Red Devil Vortex, Gabriel also creates the visual concept, part of the graphic design and makes and edits all of RDV’s music videos, a service he offers to other artists and bands.

As the story is being written and new challenges appear in our constant changing world, one thing is certain: Gabriel Connor is ready to rock anytime, anywhere.
